Cocoa pests and diseases worldwide are responsible for estimated global yield losses of up to 30-40% and are among the principal constraints to cacao production, seriously reducing productivity and farmers' income. Numerous institutions, researchers and farmers worldwide have been and continue to research cacao management strategies that will reduce the impact of these pests and diseases.
